Playing for the Pleasure of Performing

Dalkeith & Monktonhall Brass Band

conductor

Jim Chamberlain

Jim Chamberlain’s playing career has seen him playing for a multitude of brass bands: Sharlston Colliery, Jayness (Queensbury), Wallace Arnold (Rothwell) & Harlequin Brass.  He has also helped some of the UK’s top bands: Yorkshire Building Society & the Scottish Co-op.

When Jim moved to Scotland in 2000 to pursue his professional career as a music teacher he joined Whitburn Brass Band playing Cornet.  A year later he moved onto the Flugel Horn where he now has become expert, winning several awards for his efforts!

In 2005 Jim agreed to take on the job of Resident Conductor with Dalkeith & Monktonhall Brass Band.  We welcome him and are sure that, with all his talent, he can steer the band to success in the future!
